KIRKUS REVIEW
It’s 1876 and nothing could be more terrifying than traveling to the Wild West, where Indian tribes strike unknowingly and the greatest paleontological find is within grasp.

William Johnson, a student at Yale, encounters an adventure to the Wild West based on a bet. Johnson is arrogant, rich, and has no knowledge of surviving on his own, nonetheless in the west. Determined to survive the summer in the West, Johnson joins Othniel Charles Marsh on his latest paleontological expedition. As the journey continues, Marsh believes that Johnson is spying on him. Marsh becomes paranoid and believes wholeheartedly that Johnson is a spy for Edwin Drinker Cope, another great paleontologist. As a result, Marsh abandons Johnson in Cheyenne, Wyoming. With little to do and resources small, Johnson is forced to join Edwin Drinker Cope. Cope and Johnson embark on a new paleontological discovery and find things that they wouldn’t have imagined. Cope finds what he’s looking for, but the trouble is far from over. To bring the discovery back is a dangerous mission, something Johnson never imagined he could be in charge of. Johnson takes the responsibility for the discovery and encounters many bumps and struggles along the way.

Dragon Teeth is based on two authentic paleontologists - Othniel Charles Marsh and Edwin Drinker Cope. Michael Crichton brings their rivalry back to life. Full of danger, deception, and adventure, Crichton takes readers on an adventure they never hope they encounter in the Wild, Wild West.
